The Elgin Brown and Hamer Pty. Ltd. Group of companies consists of eight (8) subsidiary companies in total, providing the international ship industry with a full in-house service in all aspects of ship repair. Elgin Brown & Hamer operate the first privately owned floating docks in southern Africa. The Group operates from Durban, East London, Cape Town (South Africa) and Walvis Bay (Namibia) to provide the international shipping industry with a full house service in all aspects of ship repair and dry-docking. This includes the provision of riding crews to vessels worldwide. The group repairs about 400 vessels each year, more than 80 of which are dry docked.

 

EAST LONDON

East London Shipyard is a joint venture by Elgin Brown and Hamer Pty. Ltd. and DCD Dorbyl, while the management and administration are done by Elgin Brown and Hamer. Since the East London Shipyard began operating the company has developed greatly enabling them to achieve a more than satisfactory level of expertise as well as build excellent customer relationships. The company provides a full spectrum of ship repair services and facilities, which are of the highest international standards, including, Ship Repair, Chemical Cleaning, Grit Blasting, Boiler Cleaning, Marine & General Engineering, Tank Hold Bilge Cleaning, Ship Painting and the provision of Sea-going Maintenance Crews.
