NORTH EAST ASIA JAPAN
Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.
Taking over the enormous facilities and human resources of the former Sasebo Naval Arsenal, the company was established as a private company in 1946. Even as times have changed since the company's founding, the company has thoroughly pursued the essence of a manufacturer, "providing products and services that meet the trust of customers."
Currently, the company's main business is repair work for the Maritime Self-Defense Force, general merchant ships, and special ships, and it also operates a machinery business centered on forged steel products, which are valuable in Japan.
Ship repair work is carried out in the repair dock and at the mooring quay, which is 1,210m long. Dock No. 3 in particular has a docking capacity of 180,000 GT and is equipped with labor-saving equipment such as guide-rail type docking facilities, making it a large dock that can efficiently carry out repair work on large ships.
